A Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Centre
A trained chiropractor is qualified to individualise a treatment programme so that acute, recurrent or chronic pain can be alleviated and future problems prevented. Following a consultation and a thorough examination, a combination of manipulation, simple exercises, education and encouragement are ingredients that will lead to success.

 |
Chiropractic comes from the Greek language, meaning 'effective treatment by hand'. |
 |
Injury
Direct trauma, from an injury like a sprained ankle or whiplash to the neck are obvious causes of pain. But, by far the most common type of pain results from the cumulative stress of repetitive overuse, such as frequent bending and twisting and prolonged sitting. Any task performed over and over again can lead to progressive overload to joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons. |
 |
The Pain Cycle
A key element in pain management is successful treatment of the overloaded tissues. Chiropractic adjustments, manipulation, other manual therapies and postural or therapeutic exercises may be used to relax and mobilise the painful areas. If and when a pain cycle has been established, deconditioning in the form of muscle 'spasm', joint stiffness, and muscle weakness are the inevitable result.

Chiropractic Care
The aim of chiropractic care is to ensure that joints, muscles and nerves function optimally. Adjustments and manipulation are used to ensure that joints are working properly, manual therapy focuses on increasing flexibility, reducing muscle spasm and strengthening muscles and joints affected by injury, surgery, disease, or simply bad posture.
